Junior Penetration Tester


Job Description As a Junior Penetration Tester, you will support the offensive security team in conducting penetration tests on infrastructure, web/mobile applications, and cloud environments. 

You will work alongside senior professionals, helping to identify vulnerabilities, document and propose countermeasures, and participate in the development of internal methodologies.

Main responsibilities

  • Perform penetration tests on networks, web/mobile applications, cloud infrastructures, and host systems under supervision.  
  • Map and analyze vulnerabilities and risks, including reconnaissance, scanning, exploitation, and post-exploitation phases, according to recognized methodologies (e.g., OWASP, NIST).  
  • Prepare technical reports highlighting the vulnerabilities detected and recommendations for mitigation. 
  • Work with the team to support vulnerability remediation and improve security.  
  • Keep yourself up to date on new attacks, tools, and offensive techniques, while also proactively participating in team activities. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or equivalent, or practical experience in the IT/security sector.  
  • 0-3 years of experience (or relevant internships) in the field of IT security, networking, or testing.  
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems, networks (TCP/IP, protocols, ports), and basic security concepts.  
  • Familiarity with certain penetration testing or vulnerability tools (e.g., Nmap, Nessus, Burp Suite, Metasploit) and with concepts such as OWASP Top 10.  
  • Good communication skills – report writing, teamwork, and technical interface with colleagues and, where applicable, customers.  
  • Fluent knowledge of the Italian language 
  • Passion for cybersecurity, aptitude for continuous learning, reliability, and attention to detail.

NICE TO HAVE 

  • Scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) and/or understanding of languages such as C, C++, Java, PHP, etc. 
  • Penetration testing/security certifications (e.g., eJPT, OSCP, CEH, GPEN) 
  • Participation in CTF, ethical hacking, workshops, or "offensive security" communities.
  • Experience or interest in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and application/mobile security.
